How does the spending opportunity work, and what data do you collect?
The $500 spending opportunity is delivered through a Consumer Research Spending Card (CRSC) system that works at qualified everyday categories — utilities, groceries, transportation, education, and similar. The system records transactions by category only; we don't see individual merchant details or itemized purchases. Aggregated category-level patterns across many participants are what inform our household spending research. Some categories — including gambling, lottery, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and cash advances — are excluded from qualifying spending; the full list lives here.
How do you generate the spending opportunity?
Through a structured exponential growth model that runs internally. The mechanics are protected as a trade secret to prevent duplication and misuse. What's transparent: your refund rights, your spending opportunity, and the research outcomes we publish.
Can I participate more than once?
Yes. Eligible participants can elect up to 20 separate orders within Phase 1. Each order is its own $10 refundable fee → $500 spending opportunity cycle. Phase 1 — what's available now — is the entry-level research participation: up to 20 orders for up to $10,000 in spending opportunities, available to U.S. and International participants. Phase 2 extends DPO's stewardship support long-term, with two regional tracks: U.S. trust-based with restricted-spend CRSC, and International monthly digital research support. Will I get rich from this?
No. We make no income or wealth promises. Each spending opportunity is capped at $500 per order, with a maximum of 20 orders ($10,000 total) within Phase 1. And the spending opportunities are spending credits applied within the experiment — not cash income. The point is to support how households spend, not to grow personal wealth.
Do I need to recruit anyone?
